CyberGuides (All Levels)

Dr. Seuss On-Line (Grades K-4)

  • Games, story maker, and printable activities

FanFiction (Grades 4-12)

  • Read stories based on books, movies, and t.v. shows, written by students
  • Add your own stories and comments
  • Uses rating system like that used in movies to describe the approproiateness of content

Idaho State Library (All Levels)

  • Excellent collection of on-line research resources, including specific information for elementary levels
  • Log-ins and registration are free for Idaho educators
  • Access to a variety of databases, full-text journal and magazine articles

Lexile Framework for Reading (All Levels)

  • Lexiles measure the difficulty of a piece of text and can be used to match text of an appropriate level to students
  • Search by title, author, keyword, or Lexile score
  • Word lists and activities for some books (in PowerV)
  • Additional resources for parents
