About – For the Teachers

FB_Timeline_HeaderTeachers do an amazing job, I think, of taking ideas we see and hear from others and making little changes to make them our own.

This website was started in 2012 as an extension of a site started in 2004, Resources for Idaho Teachers (www.foridahoteachers.org). I wanted a way to share some great ideas and resources from teachers I knew, particularly related to the state assessment and standards.

The Common Core standards brought about a more national discussion around assessments and standards and gave us some common language that made it easier to share resources with teachers all over the country. As state and national expectations continue to shift, I want to focus on those in education who have the biggest impact on students: the teachers. By highlighting best practices and lesson ideas that I hope spark new and even more effective, innovative ideas.

Images and materials on this site may be used for education-related purposes if a link back to the original page and credit to this site are both included.

    Hello there,

I am in the process of translating “101 ways to show what you know” to french.
I would like to know if it is ok to publish it once my work will be done.
I would still leave the mention “For The Teachers – http://www.fortheteachers.org” on it.
I would also add a mention saying “French translation by Fred Lavoie (@LavoieFred)” on it.

Do I have your permission to continue and share this wonderful resource in French once my work is done ?

Yes! Will you post a link here as well so I can see it? And if you would include a link back to this page wherever you post it, I’d appreciate it.

I too am seeking permission. The Michigan Assessment Consortium would like to use your Instructional Strategies poster in an on-line series on formative assessment, Credit would be given on the slide to your org as well as Used with Permission. We would like participants to reflect and create a journal entry about it, if possible.

        Thank you.

I would like to use this online resource for curriculum writing for our district, may I have permission to use you as a resource? I love the work you have done here. Thank you for getting this online and being very useful. I am a subject area coordinator for the visual arts at East Side Union High School District in San Jose, CA . May I also use this site as a resource for writing curriculum in approval for UC requirements for our A-G alignment in our district curriculum?

    Hi there,
I saw “Ways a Parent Can Help with Math” someone posted on Twitter. Can I get permission to hand that out to parents at our school? Thanks for the great resources.

HI, I’d like to use the “101 ways to show what you know” poster in an input regarding formative assessment, to 1st year teaching students. I will include an attribution and a link to your page. Hope that’s ok.
